BALANGAN BEACH WARUNGS ENGULFED IN FLAMES

Warung vendors along the edge of Balangan Beach, in Bali’s southern peninsula have been engulfed in flames overnight, but have since been extinguished by firefighters.

Eyewitness reports suggest the fire started at 9pm on Tuesday, 10 February. “I do not know how many warungs were burnt, the fire was huge,” said Badung Police officer Arif Handoyo. It is understood seven fire trucks were deployed to the scene of the fire. According to reports, most warungs were burnt to the ground.

Early reports suggest that up to 5 warungs were completely destroyed but fortunately no injuries have been report.
