All Aboard The Electric Sanur Shuttle Bus

In the past few weeks you may have noticed some electric mini shuttle buses moving quietly around Sanur with a sign in the front that saying "Free Trial Sanur Shuttle Bus". This is an initiative organized by Yayasan Pembangunan Sanur under the supervision of the Desa Sanur.

"It is a free shuttle bus for everyone (tourist and locals alike) that continuously travels from Mertasari beach in the south of Sanur up to Segara Beach in the north (McDonalds end). "

There are currently two trial busses which leave every 30 minutes from each end of the route and can be boarded by just standing anywhere on the road and raising your hand (same as would to stop a Taxi or a Bemo).

The Route From Mertasari Beach Ferry Wharf & Parking Area the shuttle travels up Jl Tirta Empul then right around the big tree in the middle of the road and along Jln Mertasari past Mercure Resort Hotel, then left into Jln Sudamala, then right and along Jln Danau Poso to the roundabout, then left at Jl Tamblingan which turns into Jln Danau Toba past Sindu Markets then a right and down Jl Segara Ayu to Segara Beach.

The Route From Segar Ayu Beach it will travel along Jln Segara Ayu, then left into Jl Danau Toba and past Sindu Markets which then turns into Jl Danau Tamblingan, then straight ahead at the roundabout and along Jl Cemara (which passes in front of Popular) and then a short left right dog leg at Jl Sudamala T junction then along Jl Mertasari past the Mercure Resort Hotel then left at the big tree in the middle of the road and down Jl Tirta Empul to the Mertasari Beach Ferry Wharf & Parking Area.

At the moment during the trial it is a free service until the end of November, what will happen in the future is not sure. The open minibuses are electric and also use Solar panel on the roof to recharge batteries during the day.
